History
In 1950 Jakob Neuhaus, originally from Rüderswil in Emmental, Switzerland,
laid the foundations for today's Jak. Neuhaus AG with the purchase of a FBW truck.
Initially, Jakob Neuhaus worked as an individual contractor for another transport company. After only a few years, owing to his pioneering spirit and perseverance, he was able to build up his own customer base. Due to the steady growth and favourable economic situation, he was soon unable to handle the increasing volume of orders and was forced to take on additional staff which he initially managed himself. In the course of time more trucks were added along with additional administrative staff. The company continued thriving and gradually developed into a prominent SME.
For almost 40 years, until the end of 2015, the fate of Neuhaus was successfully steered by the daughter of the founder, Mrs Marie-Therese Bacher-Neuhaus and her husband, Mr Eduard Bacher – the second generation. From then onwards the rudder was taken over by the third generation represented by Mr Yves Bacher.
Over the course of more than 33 years the company operated as a sole trader. In 1983 it was converted into a stock company. The transport of steel products in almost every form is a long-standing core competency of the company. Jak. Neuhaus AG focuses primarily on the following industries: steel, plastics and construction materials. In addition, there are various specialised trading companies that Jak. Neuhaus AG is serving.
